About JCL
What is JCL?
The National Junior Classical League (NJCL) is a youth organization of high school students sponsored and organized by the American Classical League (ACL). Founded in 1936, the NJCL is comprised of more than 1,000 local chapters located in the United States, Canada, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. With over 45,000 members, it is the largest Classical organization in the world today. Its mission is "to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of classical antiquity."
The RJCL meets every Wednesday and Thursday after school from 2:30-3:30 pm ​

2001-2012
Dr. Warren
There has always been a Latin program at Rossview High School. Dr. Warren was Rossview's first JCL sponsor, and her husband actually taught our current Latin teacher at Northeast High School!
Ryan Vinson sponsored our chapter for 9 years and is still active in the JCL community. We see him every year at conventions.
2021-2025
Alyssa Sanchez
Ms. Sanchez is our current sponsor. We might be biased, but all of her students will tell you that she is the best Latin teacher they've ever had. JCL wouldn't be the same without her.
